  1. Du finner den her om du ikke har funnet den allerede i Win Vista Control Panel\\Performance Information and Tools
  3. Takk for flotte kommentarer folkens!
  7. Heisan Stig Are Takk for kommentaren.

After a lot of sleep after my Newspaper flight I was again ready for more flying. The dispatcher had told med that there was a famous singer coming to Anchorage from Juneau and she was going to sing in Butte. The weater was great as last night and this morning and latest reports told me that her plane was due to land at 19.00. This made it a close race to get her to Butte before the show at 20.00 same evening. I went out to the Beaver at 18.30 to be all ready for the flight as soon as her plane landed. She was taking a business jet I was told. The plane arrived punctual and soon we was ready for the trip to Butte loaded with her luggage and all. It was a lovely evening and this should be a great flight, even the flight to Shirly Lake with the medical staff which would assist in a huge industrial accident nearby. The flight out to Butte went fast, and I had great company. The singer, I can not tell you her name you know. We have discretion in the company During the flight to Butte the dispatcher called me about a delay from Butte to Shirly Lake. The medical staff would not be ready to leave until 21.15. Well, this would be a late night for me before I was back in Anchorage. The singer told me that instead of waiting in the plane I could come to the show. She would arrange transport back to the airport at 21.00 if this was ok. After landing I shut down the aircraft and did enjoy an hour of her great show. When I arrived at the airport the medical staff had just arrived. We loaded the Beaver and soon we was airborne heading for Shirly Lake. They told me that a boiler at the plant exploded and that at least 15 persons was injured. The medical staff was needed at the local hospital to take care of the injured people. The flight to Shirly Lake was lovely. Just as an Alaskan evening could be in great weather. After 20 minutes we reached Shirly Lake and I was going to land at the nearest airstrip. It was small, but no problem for a bush pilot. Then I got a problem.. the landing gear would not release.. I tried a couple of times and at last I got them out. Strange thing, I had to remember to let the engineers take a look at this in Anchorage. After unloading the passengers and lugage I started the flight back to Anchorage. This was one of the flight that I would remember for a long time.. I just had a great time enjoying the weather and the view. Soon I arrived Anchorage and I decided to do a waterlanding as I would not have any problems with the landing gear again. After the landing and a note to the engineers I went back to my appartment, thinking of what adventure my dispatcher would give me next time. Always something new happening in Alaskan Winds.
  10. Nydelige bilder Ernst.
  11. Tusen takk for kommentarene folkens!
  12. Fra dagens jobb: It was my turn to do the "hell flight." Going from Anchorage up To Talkeetna to get todays newspaper and bring them to Victory. Thats why I had to get up in the middle of the night and had to be at the airport at 02.00 in the night. After checking todays weather report I started to walk out to my Twin Otter. There was hectic activity around my plane and they told me that I had to bring 10 mountain bicycles to Talkeetna as well. Well, No problem for me at all. I started to do my preparation for the trip, not that it should be any problem. The weather was great and almost no winds. When I was done with my stuff I got the message that the plane was fully loaded and ready to go. Anchorage Intl. is a busy airport, even at nights. A lot of cargo flights to and from Anchorage. I was glad I had company on this trip. A son of one of my friends living in Seattle was going to do some mountain bike cycling and he asked if he could go with me. We started taxing out to the take off runway and I was behind the queen. I just had to wait until my turn. After a while and clearance enough to avoid wake turbulence the tower gave their clearance and off we go. Anchorage in the dawn is a pretty city to watch from above. After a while we reached our cruise altitude for this trip at 9000 feet and what a view on this clear day. Parked at Talkeetna we got the message that we had to wait for the newspapers, they was behind schedule du to some problems with the press that night. Well, we decided to see if we could get some breakfast and coffee while waiting. After half an hour they started to load the plane and soon after we was ready to continue our flight and normal startup procedure was done. Enroute to Victory we had a few more clouds, but cruise at 9000 feet did not make any problems. The massive Denali mountians makes an impression. Soon we started to descend to Victory and this short runway close by the mountains was demanding. At the airport they had waited for us and a fast unload of the plane and getting the computer equipment loaded in no time and we was soon in the air again. As we passed Eklutna Lake and Bold Swedmunchy contacted me on the radio telling me that he had just left his cabin near Bold and was enroute to Kodiak with some helikoper parts and that the dispatcher had given him the job to deliver some electronics from Kodiak Mun. At last we reached Anchorage Intl. again and I looked forward to put my legs on solid ground and find a bed as fast as possible. Hopefully iit would go a long time before i had to do a night flight again.
Well.. I got a call from my friend Jake, he was stranded in Haines Junction and needed a flight to Jakes Bar. I had nothing better to do, and could really need the extra hours of mountain flying. The forecast was pretty nice for this early morning flight from Icy Bay to Haines Junction, so i fired up the engine and started climbing. It's something special to fly over glaciers.. and see mile after mile with thick solid ice beneath you. here I'm passing over Kluane Icefield. Suddenly I get caught in heavy dark clouds and I had to go to IFR flight. Thanks for GPS and instruments taking me safe over the mountains and soon I couls safely "dive" down to the Haines Junction Airstrip. Jake met me at the airport and told me we had to wait until tomorrow before we could continue to Jakes Bar, he was waiting for some russian vodka he wanted to bring back into the wilderness. After an rather late and interesting evening and a huge breakfast Jake and I went out to the airport. Both of us was curious of the weather report. The report we got was that there could be some heavy clouds in the mountains but as soon we passed the mountains it would clear up a bit. Jake and I discussed if we should take the trip today or wait a day or two. Jake the stubborn, told me that he know the mountains and like his own pocket and he had flown this route in much worse weather than this. I was still uncertain, but decided to let Jake guide me thru the mountains if we was clouded in. From Haines Junction the weather was pretty ok, and we had a great departure. We hadn't been enroute for a long time before the weather catched us, and it got worse and worse, still there was some glimps of the landscape and there was some really might sights. You feel small among these huge mountains. I was really happy when we passed the mountains and when the landcape become a bit nicer and not that mighty and the ground way below us. The rest of the flight should just be relaxing until we reached Jakes Bar. After a while we finally reached the airstrip, well what seems to be an airstrip if you use a magnifying glass. It was small, really small, but this is what bush pilots do, put their aircraft down on a stamp. I decided to stay here for a couple of days before heading back to Icy Bay. I was eager to know who else of the Alaskan Winds pilots that have reached Icy Bay.
