Jan Arild Gjemble Skrevet 26. mars 2010 Skrevet 26. mars 2010 When I entered the office, the boss called me in and told me that he had some news for me. He had an assignment and if I was able to handle it and return safely and with happy clients I would have a position within Alaskan Winds. I was curious and asked The Boss what I had to do. He told me that he had got a call from an new client and the client wanted to take a partner on a fishing trip and combine it with some business. The client had told The boss that this was a potentially new partner for the Client, and if we delivered what he wanted and in such a way that the client was happy and was able to sign up with the new partner Alaskan Winds would have a new client for sure and there would be a bonus. The Boss told me that I had to pick up the Client at Anchorage, fly up to Talkeetna and pick up the clients new partner and fly them both up to Nenana where they would stay during the weekend and fish. If they wanted to get a ride out to a lake I had to fly them as well during the weekend. Of course I said yes to this flight, I really wanted to be a part of Alaskan Winds and looked forward to do this trip. Early morning on 6th of August I entered Anchorage and our office to to some preflight preparations and latest weather forecasts. Our Client, Mr. Bill Taylor was supposed to come at 6 am and we had plans to leave Anchorage at 6.30 am on friday morning. Preparations went smooth and Mr. Taylor was right on time. Soon we was airborne and heading for Talkeetna The weather forecast for the whole weekend was good, with calm winds and clear sky. As I had flown a lot in this area I tried to entertain Mr. Taylor with stories from the aviation history of Alaska and all the places we passed. Here we pass over Willow and I had to tell him about Iditarod Air Force which I did last winter. We landed early at Talkeetna and Mr. Taylor was pleased about that. We had to wait 10 minutes for Mr. Taylors partner. Soon we was on our way again, with the plane full of equipment and two happy passengers. We did follow the river up and the scenic was marvelous, both Mr. Taylor and his partner commented and was very thrilled about the flight. Soon we was up to Nenana and they should check in and start fishing. The weekend went great, I did a short flight on Saturday to a nearby lake, where the was fishing for some hours before we returned to Nenana and they continued fishing in the river. Siter
Jan Arild Gjemble Skrevet 26. mars 2010 Forfatter Skrevet 26. mars 2010 We decided to return to Anchorage late on Sunday to get the most out of the Sunday as well. I told them that this would not be a problem as flying in the night just was a piece of cake in this weather. We left Nenana at 8pm on Sunday evening. During the direct flight back to Anchorage we had a beautiful sunset and everyone seems happy When we reached Ancorage it was becoming dark, but here on final and both passenges was curious about this large airport and all the traffic Parked and airplane empty and with two happy passengers carrying all the fish they had caught. I just had to wait for the report from my boss, Joao, and I hoped that we had landed a new contract of flying for this client. Siter
