My boss gave me a couple of days of and I decided to go to Anchorage to visit another pilot of mine, working for ERA. It was a long time since I had the time to spend some days together and we decided to try to use these days to catch up the news.

We had a great time the two first days but suddenly the peace was broken. His phone rang and it was from ERA. They had an epidemic amongst their pilots and called to ask if he was able to do some extra work. They was missing two pilots on a route from Anchorage to Fairbanks.

My friend Jake told his boss sure, he could do the route, as long as I could take the right seat on that flight. Later that afternoon we was at Stevens Int. and had the briefing. Should be an easy flight and I told that we better go to the B1900 as it was a long time since I was behind the yoke of such a big aircraft.

After Jake went thru the cockpit and all the instruments and knobs we was ready to let the passengers board and do the last preparations for the flight.

No doubt that Stevens Int. is a busy cargo airport as there was cargo planes all over the airport.

after a short break we got our clearance for take off and soon we was airborne and on our way to Fairbanks. The weather forecast could indicate a bit bumpy flight but overall just plain good flying.

Doing a sharp left turn to get on our course to Fairbanks.

We left the sun behind us and was prepared for some night flying and IFR-conditions.

The weather was mostly overcast but now and then we got a glimpse of the blue sky.

As you can see we was not alone up in the sky this afternoon. This is absolutely the land of GA-flying and bush flying.

We was climbing up to 20000 feet which would be our cruise altitude to Fairbanks.

Soon we was reaching Fairbanks and had a straight in landing and after complete shutting down the aircraft for the night we decided to go and get a couple of beers together with a good friend of mine, Mr. Beaver as we use to call him, flying the Beaver for the last 35 years. He was the man I learned all about the Beaver.

Happy flying my eagle friends!

Hei' date=' utrolige bilder må jeg si! Bra jobbet! Bare lurte på om du har lastet ned noe spesielt for å få så realistiske skyer eller om du bare har redigert bildet? [/quote']

Det som er morro med Alaska er det alltid skiftende og til tider ekstreme været.
