  1. For your information: EHAM closing tonight 19:00 hours. Today, upto 16:30, an estimate of 150-175 flights (most Scandinavia and UK) were cancelled out of 1108 planned.
  2. FYI: LN-TUM in real life OSL-AMS June 8, 2009: See My Photobook
  3. Example of the High Altitude map, I mentioned before. This link gives you a picture of a section of the map: Bodø to Tromsø. (ignoring SIDs and STARs) FMCs know about the waypoints: BDO um609 TRO automatically includes waypoints EVS and SJA. UM609 is high altitude, M609 would be low altitude airway. (the picture is part of December 2007 FOTM at www.toomuchfs.com)
  4. At FSWeekend in Lelystad next November (understand lots of Norwegian FlightSimmers will be there), the RNAF (not RNoAF) traditionally gives away expired charts. I have three maps: High Altitude Airways for Scandinavia down to half-way France. As that was not enough, I have a database of routes and made a program to use it. It's on the web; feel free to try: Create Your OFP
  5. Just someone drinking coffee at Kaffekroken... I'm a dutch flightsimmer and have a private museum focussed at old minicomputers of the same type as used in the DC-10 Simulator.
  6. As promissed: surf to http://www.bejaardecomputers.nl , for your convenience click on the Norwegian flag, select "Nyheter" in left menu and read the newsitem about FLG-09. Slides and notes are there.
  7. Well, come back here... I'll post a link to the slides and give you little explanation when I'm back home.
  8. Thanks, Magnus, for the movies... I now can see where all the excitement is about... Congrats NSC! It is quite an honour to be ground-crew in this project.
  9. LNAV and VNAV can only be used after you have loaded a proper flightplan into the FMC. That's about a SID from departing runway, the route to the STAR entrypoint for your destination and a STAR to the runway to land on. E.g. the route from Brussels to Heathrow is: EBBR EXIT KOK UL607 KONAN UL9 DVR ENTRY EGLL To get that into your FMC? Long story. (Did I notice a tutorial in Norwegian at this site lately?) Free tutorials: google for "pmdg fmc tutorial"; in text and video there are pieces of the puzzle. There is also a book by Tim Rommen I can recommend: http://www.sim-adventure.de/english_version.html Flying by FMC is more "as real as it gets"...
