Satco har sendt ut et notam som inneholder viktig informasjon. For de som ikke skulle ha mottatt denne, er den gjengitt nedenfor.

1. FS2000 and SquawkBox

SB version 2.1.2 does not function correctly with FS2000. Therefore, FS2000 is not approved for use on SATNET at this time. Joe is working on SB 2.2, which will work with FS2000, and will have it ready as soon as he can.

If you are a beta tester for SB 2.2, support is not available from SATCO HQ or TFS. If you are a beta tester, you have been furnished the information on SB 2.2 beta support.

2. Email response times, Lost IDs, and SB/PC Support.

Due to the rapid growth of SATCO/IVPA, the release of FS2000, and an apparent wave of amnesia sweeping the world, I am currently receiving over 600 email messages PER DAY.

Due to the increase in messages, there will be delays in replying to Lost ID requests. Currently is taking two to three weeks. It is not necessary to send four or five messages to everyone at SATCO HQ or the Divisions for one lost ID. The only thing you need to do is to go to the SATCO HQ or IVPA web site, click Admin Forms and then submit the Lost ID form (ONCE ONLY). Your ID will ONLY be sent to the email address on file with SATCO/IVPA. If you have changed your email address and have not informed SATCO HQ or IVPA, you have to submit the Member Change form FIRST.

Sending multiple messages to SATCO HQ Staff will not get you an answer to SB/PC support questions and will only delay getting your problems fixed.

3. Names on SATNET

It is a SATCO requirement that real names (first and last) must be used when logged on to the SATCO Network. There has been an increase in the use of aliases online lately and also an increase in the number of people claiming they did not know they had to use their real names. This information is in the TOS and the email you received with your ID and password. Claiming you

didn't know is NOT an acceptable excuse. Using partial names or aliases will result in your being removed from the system.
