Jan Arild Gjemble Skrevet 10. februar 2009 Skrevet 10. februar 2009 After my cargo flights to Nome I had a couple of days to spend in Anchorage before I had to start preparing for the YQ2009. The start is closing in and I had to go over and prepare my Porter for the tasks. While I was in Anchorage I got a phone from a good friend of mine, stationed in Kodiak. He was hired to fly over Mt. Redoubt to check for volcanic activity and collect data as well with a lot of instruments. He owned an old C123 and I couldn't say no when he asked me to join in as a pilot on this flight. I booked tickets to Kodiak and off I went. it was a long time since I had been piloting a big aircraft like this and I really looked forward to it. After a half day of briefing we was ready for the flight and off we went. Climbing to 12000 feet cruise altitude Heading for Mt. Redoubt Passing over Mt. Redoubt Heading towards Kenai Airport and weather get worse Really fogged in at Kenai Touchdown Safe and parked. Had a great trip and a challenging landing at Kenai Airport. The volcano crew on board was happy and got a lot of data to go through later. Siter
Ivar Skaugstad Skrevet 11. februar 2009 Skrevet 11. februar 2009 Flotte bilder! Siter
