Iditarod Air Force 2009

I know its only November, but som eager musher asked med to do a pre-inspection of the Iditarod track for Iditarod 2009.

 

As I plan to become a part of the Iditarod Air Force I decided to take this opportunity to get some first hand information on the track and terrain.

 

I took of from Swentna and followed the track which I had plotted into my GPS.

 

 

Weather forecast looked good, with some clouds, overcast and sun, so i was up to a nice flight.

I passed Rohn and Tin Creek. On the way up to Nikolai the weather changed totally and I had to go to IFR and land and stay overnight.

 

 

One thing for sure, I really look forward to Iditarod and being a part of the Virtual Air Force

Det ser kjempegøy ut å fly litt VFR i Alaska! Gleder meg til å prøve på det sammme selv når jeg blir en habil FS-pilot. Foreløpig skal jeg holde meg i Norge og utkant-Europa (mange hyggelige kontrollere i Litauen)
