Jan Arild Gjemble Skrevet 9. november 2008 Skrevet 9. november 2008 An old officer from the air force called me as he knew I was in Talkeetna and asked me if I would like to do him a favor. He had been in Denali National Park last week, flying in with his new Cirrus airplane, but when he had planned to go back there was no condition for VRF-flight as needed. He asked me if I could fly his plane back to the base, PABI, Allen Aaf. If I did, he promised me a flight in an jet fighter, a flight of my time as he called it. I could not resist, I told him I would be there late evening today. So I called my boss, told him that I had to take a couple of days off and do some private stuff. No problem at all and it was all green. Soon I was ready to hit the sky, lined up for take off at Talkeetna. The weather prognose was ok, and I was in for a great flight. I was on my way and soon I was into Denali National Park with Mt. McKinley to my left. The weather was great. Temperature -6 degrees Celcius and I enjoyed this low winged airplane. Some clouds on the sky, but not a problem at all, I enjoyed the sceninc landscape and the sunset and the moon clear and big in the sky. After 1 hour and 12 minutes I was established on short final and I looked forward to seeing my old friend, and of course the flight that was waiting for me tomorrow. All parked and ready for a beer or two and catch up all the news with my old friend. Siter
