November 21, 200619 yr ...and so the FO (which is what we now call the FE -- moved to a window seat, to be sure, but still the janitor of the sky!) is saddled with the duty of bringing the cold, dark airplane to life, if the ground people have not already tended to it. So if you are trying to be an international Captain with your Level D 767, you aren't really being realistic if you start completely from scratch. That grunt work is just not your job! If you insist on beginning with the battery switch, then take the right hand seat for the flying!
