Et ord jeg har hørt mye de siste dagene etter Concorde-ulykken er "supersonic". Hva betyr det? Er klar over at det har noe med overlydsfart å gjøre, men ønsker en riktig forklaring..

    Jeg trur ikke det er noe værre enn:

    supersonic = over lydens hastighet

    subsonic = under lydens hastighet

    Eks.:

    Concord og F16 er supersoniske fly. Passasjerfly (747, 737, Airbus og hele rekka) som flyr tett oppunder 1.0 mach/lydens hastighet og med lavere hastigheter er subsoniske fly.
