Einar Halvorsen Skrevet 2. april 2002 Skrevet 2. april 2002 Dene er mottatt fra Frankrike. Her har dere muligheter for å besøke landet. Dear Ladies and Gents, The VACC France Team will be happy to welcome you into Paris Le Bourget(LFPB) on Thursday the 4th, starting 1900Z. * General Information * Le Bourget was the first parisian airport ever (airline transport flights in the early 1920's). Today it's traffic consists mainly of private business props and jets, a few military flights occasionnally (Boeing E3 Sentry spotted not a month ago) ; and of course, it welcomes the famous airshow every two years. Because of its proximity with Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle, Approach Control is performed by De Gaulle Approach, in what is (I think) a uniqueness in Europe : triple simultaneous parallel approaches (two for LFPG and one for LFPB). * What you need * First of all, you will need ... your favourite aircraft ! Why not the very beautiful Falcon 50 for example ? Even though most aircraft will probably be small bizjets and props, we should be able to occasionally accomodate middle-size aircraft, such as the B737 BBJ or the latest Airbus A320 CJ. Vintage aircraft (Caravelle, Constellation, DC-3 ...) would also be welcome ! You will also need to get the latest charts for both LFPB and LFPG http://www.vacc-france.org/2001/en/navaids.php3 as well as the 0203 AIRAC data for your FMS if you intend to use one (we recommend NAVData http://members.aon.at/navdata/default.html. Flight planning using STARs (and SIDs for the return flight) is highly recommended. Please check whether your aircraft equipment matches the RNAV requirements, as most (if not all) procedures are now RNAV designed. Non RNAV-equipped aircraft will be handled via radar vectors and conventional navaids. In case of any doubt about the flight planning, do not hesitate to drop a line ! And last but not least : equip yourself with good airmanship, courtesy, and ENJOY ! * Suggestions * Short haul flights will probably be a good choice for this event, from and back to airports at our closest neighbours' : VACCs SAG, Belgium, UK, Italy, Spain ... National flights will be welcome too, of course ! Schedule your flight to arrive in Paris between 1930Z and 2030Z if you intend to fly back. Hope for nice weather, unless you intend to practice your CAT III C skills in LFPG ... Once again, should you have any question regarding this even, feel free to ask them. Looking forward to seeing you there ! Best Regards, On behalf of the VACC France Staff Romain Riviere, VACC France Training Director Website : http://www.vacc-france.org Siter
