By joining forces in this manner, existing SATCO members and users will be able to continue to enjoy the hobby with minimal disruption and inconvenience. The exciting new structure and extraordinary new management tools that VATSIM bring to the hobby will enable existing and new members alike to take this hobby to the next level in the years to come." The terms of the agreement will see VATSIM take over the existing SATCO membership files, and manage the operations of this NEW virtual ATC organization from the 27th July onwards. The structure of the organization will change somewhat, and although those changes should not affect the average user seriously they have been introduced to ensure that VATSIM remain true to the philanthropic goals of the original on-line flight simulation community concept. Randy Whistler founder of SATCO and former Executive Director said: "For quite some time, I have needed to step back from SATCO's management. This new structure and organization will now allow me to concentrate on tying up the loose ends and move on to new ventures." I have accepted responsibility for any donations received prior to this agreement, and anyone wishing information on the donations issue should contact me." Harv Stein, President of the Board of Governors for VATSIM said: "VATSIM is a great opportunity to create an organization that will set a new standard for online flight simulation and air traffic control simulation" says Harv Stein, President of the Board of Governors for VATSIM. "While we can look back on SATCO as the Father of online ATC and flight simulation, the future is in VATSIM and we are looking forward to bringing our organization online to service the needs of our community for many years to come." In concluding their joint statement, Harv and Randy said: "Thanks to all members of VATSIM and SATCO for their patience and understanding. We look forward to seeing everyone in the skies again."
