Starline Airways opening its doors to the public

 

The original idea of Starline is that flying for virtual airlines should not be complicated

with software to install and configure, rules for how much a pilot needs to fly to avoid being

removed et.c, but still highly realistic. Instead of ACARS-software all our flights is tracked

live from VATSIM/IVAO, all the pilot has to do is to connect with the correct callsign for the

booked flight. We encourage our pilots to fly whenever they have the time and desire for it,

and a pilot will never be removed due to inactivity.

 

With our professional custom made and user-friendly web page comes except a booking system,

forum, advanced user statistic and downloadable aircraft liverys for PMDG737NGX, PMDG777

and Aerosoft Airbus X A321, also an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).

 

The Electronic Flight Bag includes:

¤ Flight breifing overview

¤ Flight progress indication

¤ Charts for all our destination

¤ Weather

¤ Notams

¤ Fuel calculations

¤ Digital checklists

 

The EFB will automatically load the flight you're connected to on VATSIM or IVAO, and make

recommendations for charts and runways in use.

 

With our optional software StarRoute, the programming of the FMC will also be alot smoother

as you can simply just load the flightplan into the FMC, without having to type each waypoint

in yourself. StarRoute will automatically download co-routes for your booked flights and place

them in the correct folder for each addon.

The only thing except Flight Simulator or Prepar3D is an valid VATSIM or IVAO ID.

This actually looks quite interesting for a casual simmer who is constantly being kicked out of various airlines because of inactivity :-). I wonder which aircraft it supports, for instance the D8 Q400?

Our current fleet is Boeing 737-700, 777-200 and Airbus 321. The fleet will probably expand during the next year as the airline grows.  Which aircrafts is yet to be decided

Too bad my 737 cannot be used in P3D2, and I don't have any buses. The dash 8 seems to be my main platform for the near future.

Are you only flying P3D2 or switching between it and FSX?

I'm P3D2 only, can't be bothered with maintaining two installations.

It is a battle, though. In addition to some aircraft not working (not being allowed to work) I find that I am unable to get any of the vatsim clients to connect correctly. FSInn requires that I run the simulator in legacy mode with causes consistent crashes at the splash screen, and SB4 seems unable to inject traffic. I can fly and use the radio to communicate with 80 C, but I cannot see any of the aircraft.

 

I believe, however, that the IVAO client should work, so I will test this later and fly on that network :-)

Off the record, we're planning for expanding both our fleet and route network next year with for example a mail-cargo Dash Q8 flight.

I got squawkbox working by installing it correctly, so I'm back on vatsim (although my simulator crashed when trying to toggle ptt).
